As we head into the holiday break, Jan and I would like to wish everyone happy and safe holidays.
Public reports of an all-agency memo regarding budget reductions are correct. The state has asked all agencies, including the Nevada System of Higher Education, to prepare plans for budget cuts.
Patty Charlton told the cabinet members of a change in the Cabinet reporting schedule that will begin in January. Instead of reporting every other month, cabinet members will report quarterly.
Media in the state have been reporting on forthcoming budget cuts and the governor’s call for the Economic Forum to meet, which may lead to a special session of the Legislature and more budget reductions.
