“Our Town” is written by American playwright Thornton Wilder. It takes place in the fictional town of Grover’s Corners through the everyday lives of its citizens. Wilder uses metatheatrical devices, setting the play in the theatre where it is performed.
The main character is the stage manager who addresses the audience, brings in guest speakers, fields questions from the audience and performs some of the roles.
