Short Film Showcase Draws Full House
The 14th Annual CSN Short Film Showcase brought a strong crowd to the North Las Vegas campus on Friday, Nov. 7, as students, faculty, families, and community members gathered to support CSN’s emerging filmmakers.
A red carpet welcomed guests into the Morse Arberry Jr. Building, where the evening featured a full lineup of short films written, produced, and edited by students in CSN’s nationally recognized film program. The room remained packed throughout the event as the lights dimmed for the first screening.
After each film, audience members had the chance to ask students about their work, giving the evening a personal touch and offering insight into the themes and challenges behind the projects. The interactive format made the showcase feel more like a conversation than a screening and highlighted the thoughtfulness and ambition of this year’s filmmakers.
All participating students were recognized with an award for their film and invited to the front of the room for a round of applause from the CSN community.
The showcase also included a screening of Legend Has It: The Remarkable Rise of Stephen McCain by CSN alumnus and Emmy Award winner Hisonni Johnson, bringing together past and present talent from the program.
CSN’s film program continues to build on its reputation for excellence with more than 141 regional Emmy nominations and 68 wins, and this year’s showcase demonstrated the strength and creativity of the next generation.
