Little Hands, Big Hearts: Young Coyotes Give Back
Tiny hands made a big impact in giving.
From Dec. 1–16, 2025, the Early Childhood Education Lab Program brought families, staff and its youngest learners together for the annual Coyote Cupboard Food Drive, collecting nonperishable food and essential household items for CSN students and employees facing food insecurity.
Children helped gather items like canned goods, pasta, cereal, diapers and toiletries, while taking part in simple conversations about kindness, sharing and caring for others. The experience tied directly into the Lab Program’s focus on service learning and real-world connection.
The drive wrapped up with ECE Lab staff and children delivering the donations to the Coyote Cupboard, CSN’s on-campus resource that provides free food and essentials to support student success.
This annual effort is a reminder that community care starts early and that even the youngest Coyotes can make a meaningful difference.
