The Public Speaking Festival is the Communication Department’s biannual showcase of student speeches across CSN! Professors from all COM 101 courses pick student speeches to compete against each other in 3 rounds, and have their speeches judged by a panel of CSN and student judges.

In the end, there are 6 finalists, 3 for Informative speeches and 3 for Persuasive speeches. This is our opportunity to celebrate and encourage continual student achievement within the Communication Department. The final round is open to the public and is judged not by students but by a panel of “Celebrity Judges”, prominent community members who lend their time and expertise to adjudicate speeches.
