Dear CSN Community,

I’m excited to invite you to our Community Town Hall to advocate for the CSN Northwest Campus at 6:30 p.m. this Thursday. We’d love to have your support at this event, designed to get the word out about the campus and get people excited.

‌As you’re well aware, we’ve been talking about this campus since before some of our current students were born, but the funding hasn’t come through to actually build it. It’s time for that to change. It’s time that we end the education desert in Northwest Las Vegas.

‌When I look at the proposed site out on Durango and Elkhorn, I don’t see just a vacant lot and a lonely sign: I see a college campus. Classrooms, science labs, crowded parking lots, students hustling in between classes, faculty and staff offices, maybe even a Student Union one day.

With community support, we can make it happen.

‌Northwest Las Vegas has grown to 250,000 people now — nearly the size of Reno. Indeed, 10,000 current CSN students call this area of Las Vegas home. And yet, they have no higher education options nearby. Those who are committed commute to one of our other campuses, which isn’t easy. It’s a 20-minute drive to our Charleston campus, an hour and a half by bus. Our students deserve better. They deserve a college campus of their own.

‌On Thursday, a new chapter begins. Come and make your voice heard.

– ‌Stacy
