Active Assailant Training Coming to Henderson Campus
When it comes to campus safety, knowing how to respond in an emergency can make all the difference.
For the first time in more than five years, Active Assailant Safety Training is returning to CSN’s Henderson Campus, and faculty and staff are encouraged to take advantage of this hands-on learning opportunity.
Hosted by CSN and University Police Services, the eight-hour training will take place Friday, Nov. 20, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Henderson Campus Student Union Ballrooms 126-130.
The training focuses on the “Run, Hide, Fight” model, helping participants build awareness, practice decision-making under pressure and better understand how to respond during an active threat. The session includes realistic scenarios, guided movement activities and practical safety instruction.
While Henderson Campus employees are especially encouraged to participate, faculty and staff from all CSN campuses are welcome, along with students.

A Heads-Up for the Henderson Campus
Even if you’re not attending, you may notice some unusual activity on Nov. 20.
The training will include loud noises, flashes of light and an increased police presence, particularly during the afternoon. These are planned exercises, not an actual emergency.
Employees working nearby may want to consider relocating meetings or workspaces to minimize disruptions.
