October 26 2026

Three individuals pose together indoors, each holding a branded mug, with one person wearing a suit and tie, another in a blue t-shirt with a logo, and the third in a blue t-shirt and cap. What should CSN look like five or 10 years from now? And who gets to help decide?

Spoiler alert: You do.

In the latest episode of ConnectED, Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs Dr. James McCoy sits down with Jyoti Senthil, assistant director of strategic planning, and Kevin Mitchell, communication professor, to talk about one of the college’s biggest ongoing projects: developing CSN’s next strategic plan.

As co-chairs of the Strategic Connections Task Force, Senthil and Mitchell are helping guide conversations about where CSN is headed, what matters most and how the college can better serve students and Southern Nevada.

But this isn’t just a conversation about goals on paper. It’s about the people who will help bring those goals to life.

The episode explores how students, faculty, staff and community partners can participate in the planning process, why their perspectives matter and how those ideas can help shape the college’s future.

McCoy also asks the duo to look ahead. What should CSN’s next strategic plan accomplish, and what can each of us do today to help build that future?

Whether you’ve been involved in strategic planning from day one or are just hearing about it, this episode is a great place to start.

Stay till the end, for our favorite part; rapid fire This or That questions. Their answers might surprise you!
