CSN welcomed faculty and staff back for Fall Convocation, held Monday, August 17, bringing the CSN community together to celebrate a new academic year and the people who make it all happen.
Held at the North Las Vegas Campus, this year’s theme was “Start Here, Go Anywhere: The Coyote Way.” Faculty and staff were encouraged to wear gear from their alma maters, filling campus with college colors from across the country and a few friendly rivalries along the way.
ASCSN President Brayden Boulter served as emcee, while Benjamin Clayton, ASCSN Charleston senator and opera singer, opened the program with the national anthem.
President Dr. Stacy Klippenstein welcomed employees back and reflected on what it means to start another year together at CSN. His remarks celebrated the work happening across the college and the faculty and staff who show up every day to help students succeed.
The morning also included updates from college leadership and shared governance groups, a look at the college’s strategic planning work and plenty of opportunities to celebrate our colleagues.
One special moment recognized Bruno Rhode for 15 years of service with Phi Theta Kappa and his longstanding commitment to CSN students. Employees celebrating milestone years of service were also recognized for the time, talent and heart they have given to the college.
Convocation also gave us a chance to pause and remember members of the CSN community we lost over the past year.

The program featured the “We Are Everywhere” video, highlighting CSN’s reach across Southern Nevada and the many ways our students, alumni, faculty and staff make an impact throughout the community.
And, of course, we couldn’t start a new year without a little Coyote spirit. CSN Cheer and Cody the Coyote helped close out the morning and send everyone into the fall semester with some extra energy.
Thank you to everyone who joined us and to all the people behind the scenes who helped bring Fall Convocation together.
Now it’s time for the next big moment: welcoming our students back when fall classes begin Monday, Aug. 24.
