FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: CSN STUDENT DANCE CONCERT 2026
February 12 2026

Next Generation of Las Vegas Choreographers to Debut Original Works in  CSN Student Dance Concert 2026

The College of Southern Nevada Dance Program is proud to present the CSN Student Dance Concert 2026, a showcase of original works that serves as the final capstone project for the program’s graduating seniors.

This 75-minute concert is built from the ground up by the students themselves. The program tasks Senior Dance Certificate of Achievement majors with navigating the entire lifecycle of a professional production — from business management and marketing to choreography and technical production. This immersive experience is designed to prepare students for the rigors of life as working artists, choreographers, and producers.

The performance features a diverse range of genres. With each piece deeply rooted in the dancers’ personal voices and life experiences.

“This concert represents a bridge between the classroom and the professional stage,” explains Denise Darnell, CSN’s Dance Program Lead Faculty member. “By experiencing the production process in its entirety, our students aren’t just performing, they’re proving they are ready to lead and innovate within the Las Vegas dance community.”

Featured Senior Student Choreographers include: Gonzalo Castro Barbosa, Saphira Hernandez, Ashley Martinez, Jasmine Lane, Naoma Wickert. The Concert will also feature guest student choreography by Rachel Ranstrom, Jayvon Smith, and Trinity Anderson, further strengthening the collaborative spirit of the performance.

CSN’s Dance Program invites the Las Vegas community, local arts organizations, and dance enthusiasts to join them in celebrating these emerging voices as they work on building lasting connections within the local arts scene.

CSN’s Dance Program provides students with a comprehensive foundation in dance technique, history, performance and production. Through rigorous training and performance opportunities, the program prepares students for successful careers in the performing arts and contributes to the vibrant cultural landscape of Southern Nevada.
