Get Hands-On With Safety This Spring
Ever wondered if you’d actually remember how to use a fire extinguisher in the moment? Or where the nearest AED is on your campus? Here’s your chance to find out, minus the actual emergency.
CSN’s Environmental Health & Safety Department is hosting Hands-On Emergency Equipment Training at all three main campuses, and yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. You’ll rotate through stations at your own pace and learn the basics of operating a simulated fire extinguisher, using an AED and working with a Stop-the-Bleed kit
You’ll cover:
-
Fire extinguisher types, locations and the RACE and PASS methods
-
AED basics, CPR techniques and how to recognize cardiac arrest
-
How to control life-threatening bleeding, including proper tourniquet use
Stop by the Student Union, Room 130, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on:
-
March 27 at the Henderson campus
-
April 10 at the North Las Vegas campus
