A Message from Robyn Rohde

I’d like to invite you to be involved in AI Innovation and Stewardship at CSN. If you are interested in receiving updates, providing guidance and insight, and/or supporting the work itself, please visit the link below and click the Get Involved tab to complete the interest form: https://csninnovationandstewardship.nationbuilder.com/

Building on the AI Task Force’s Work: Over the past two years, CSN’s AI Task Force has devoted considerable time and thought to exploring artificial intelligence and its implications for our college. Their work resulted in a report with recommendations for how CSN might approach AI in higher education. I want to begin by expressing my gratitude, and that of the college, to theTask Force members for the care, expertise, and commitment they brought to this important work. Read the CSN AI Task Force Report.

What’s Happening This Year? This academic year, I am serving as CSN’s Interim Lead for AI Innovation and Stewardship. The creation of this position was itself one of the Task Force’s recommendations. My role is to help our college build on the Task Force’s work by determining how to prioritize its recommendations and begin moving them forward. Therecommendations are substantial, and there are many decisions still to be made about what we prioritize, how we approach the work, and who needs to be involved. These are decisions that I believe we need to think through together.

Who Should Get Involved? I’m not looking only for people with AI expertise, though expertise is invited. I’m looking for people who care about our students, our colleagues, our work, and how CSN responds to theopportunities and challenges AI presents. Whether you’re enthusiastic, skeptical, concerned, uncertain, or somewhere in between, your perspective matters.

You can choose how you’d like to participate:

  • Stay informed: Receive updates about the recommendation areas that interest you.
  • Share your perspective: Offer opinions, ideas, concerns, and preferences as priorities and approaches are considered.
  • Participate in the work: Join a working or decision-making group to help shape recommendations and next steps.
  • Help lead the work: Take a leadership role in facilitating a group or moving an area of work forward.

Interested in Getting Involved?

Visit https://csninnovationandstewardship.nationbuilder.com/ and click the Get Involved tab.

You’ll be asked to identify:

  • Your main area of interest:Which AI Task Force recommendation area interests you most. You can express interest in additional areas later.
  • Your preferred level ofengagement: How you’d like to participate, from simply receiving updates to helping lead the work.

There is no obligation to join a committee or take on additional responsibilities. You’re welcome to participate simply by staying informed. My hope is that we can build on theTask Force’s work in a way that reflects the knowledge, experiences and perspectives of colleagues throughout CSN.

For questions or additional information, please contact me at Robyn.Rohde@csn.edu.

I appreciate Robyn’s leadership in moving this important work forward, and I encourage everyone to consider how their perspective can contribute to shaping the future of AI at CSN.
