Nominations for Faculty and Student Presenters
Dear CSN Community,
It is my pleasure to invite nominations for faculty and student presenters at the quarterly Board of Regents meeting to be held at the Charleston Campus on March 5 & 6, 2026.
Each meeting, the host campus features a faculty member who shows excellence in research, pedagogy, instructional innovation, or innovation for student engagement. The Board of Regents will provide 5-7 minutes during the full board meeting for the selected faculty member to present their topic via a slide presentation.
This year the nomination process to submit names for consideration is open to all full-time faculty members through the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs office. As I mentioned at the Faculty Senate meeting on Friday, please submit the following information by 5 p.m. on February 13, 2026 to VPAA.Approval@csn.edu.
- Name, Title, Department
- Topic & presentation outline for consideration
- (Optional) Letters of Endorsement by department chair or colleagues
Additionally, we are excited to provide an opportunity for a student to present information about their research, academic highlights, or student engagement activities that positively impact their CSN experience. The selected student will be given 5-7 minutes to present their topic to the BOR via a slide presentation as well.
If you would like to nominate a student to be featured for the BOR meeting, please submit the following information by 5 p.m. on February 13, 2026 to the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs for consideration.
- Name, Academic Program, Major
- Topic & presentation outline for consideration (example: academic research, student-led engagement initiatives, etc.)
- (Required) Letter of Endorsement by department chair or program faculty (for academic nomination) OR letter by department director or organization/club advisor/sponsor.
We look forward to your nominations and for the opportunity to highlight the great work from our faculty and students.
Questions may be directed to Dr. James McCoy, EVP Academic Affairs at james.mccoy@csn.edu.
