Students Earn Prestigious PTK Scholarships
Two CSN students are receiving national recognition after earning competitive scholarships through Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for two-year colleges.
Gigi Nguyen, a student at Nevada State High School, received multiple highly competitive honors, including the All-USA Academic Team Scholarship, the 2026 New Century Transfer Pathway Scholar award, and the Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholarship. These awards recognize some of the top-performing community college students in the nation for their academic achievement, leadership and service.
Mahfam Shakibaee was named a 2026 New Century Workforce Pathway Scholar, a national distinction awarded to students preparing to enter the workforce in high-demand fields.
“Winning this scholarship means that my hard work and sacrifices are seen and valued,” Shakibaee said. “It provides financial relief and gives me hope and motivation to continue building my future.”
Phi Theta Kappa scholarships are among the most competitive opportunities available to community college students, with recipients selected from thousands of applicants nationwide.
For CSN, achievements like these reflect the strength, determination and ambition of its students, as well as the supportive environment that helps them succeed.
CSN congratulates both students on their accomplishments and looks forward to seeing where their futures lead.
