Film Students Win Big, and a Professor’s Documentary Takes Grand Prize
On May 2, CSN students walked away with 12 Student Production Emmy Awards at a ceremony held at the Public Library on the Charleston campus. It was another standout night for a program that has built a record hard to ignore: 80 Emmy wins and 166 nominations over 13 years. That kind of sustained success puts CSN in the company of some of the best film programs in the country.

Chef Educator Honored with Top Culinary Award
Chef Jill Mora, a culinary arts instructor at CSN, was named Educator of the Year by ACF Chefs Las Vegas at the 2026 ACF Chef Award Ceremony held April 30 at Russells Restaurant in Las Vegas.

CSN Breaks Ground on New Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence
CSN took a sledgehammer to the walls of the Charleston campus on April 30, marking the official groundbreaking of the Faculty Center for Teaching and Learning Excellence.

Automotive Students Get Up-Close Look at Ferrari Technology
When a Ferrari pulls into class, you pay attention. CSN's Automotive Technology program brought in a real-world lesson this week when PT instructor Jeff Brown drove a Ferrari 296 onto campus for a hands-on demonstration. The visit gave students a close look at how modern diagnostic tools and scan technology apply to high-performance hybrid vehicles.

Student Stories Honored During Emotional Awards Celebration
There are some nights in higher education that feel bigger than a ceremony. This year’s Outstanding Student Awards celebration was one of them. Inside the room, proud families clutched phones and tissues while faculty members beamed from nearby tables. Students dressed up for the occasion nervously waited for their names to be called, many carrying stories far heavier than anyone could see from the audience.
